Circle the WAGONS

Pres. Kirkman reviews the information that Hannah has given him. Rightly so, POTUS has concerns that they can’t trust anyone, perhaps only the three of them: POTUS, Mike Ritter, and Hannah. He wants his circle kept tight, and especially with regards to MacLeish. When meeting with MacLeish, he later admits he’s always been a “peacemaker” but that he wanted to reach out and strangle him. No doubt, this strangling would have been full-on Jack Bauer.

MacLeish

Ever the weasel, MacLeish gives a pro-Kirkman speech to the press and decides to lay low until he gets further instructions from those above him. He and his wife realize there are still too many loose ends even with Catalan dead and Hannah in custody. His wife reminds him they are fighting for a ‘higher cause’ and that there is no victory without sacrifice.

Rattle the Cage

After meeting with POTUS, Hannah gets her boss to help out with Jason Atwood, her former FBI boss who is sitting in prison. Hannah meets with Jason, who finds out that his son is still missing and that the lady who took him never released him despite her promise to do so for him killing Catalan.

The idea is put forth to ‘rattle the cage’ and to get one of MacLeish’s former unit members to talk. This leads her to Alvin Joyner at a motorcycle repair shop. He obviously knows something in spite of him saying no. When Hannah leaves, they wait for Joyner to make his move.

Turns out his move is making markings on a mailbox, which MacLeish later sees. This leads to other cage rattling as it is discovered Hannah is out of jail, by a fake lawyer sent to see her in jail, only to discover she’d been released.

This leads to a clandestine meeting in Arlington National Cemetery. Alvin is waiting for MacLeish. He’s nervous that things are falling apart. Suddenly Hannah appears and calls down MacLeish, burn then a voice from nowhere calls Hannah to stand down. It’s MacLeish’s wife. Things aren’t looking good for Hannah, but then suddenly MacLeish’s wife shoots MacLeish dead and then turns the gun on herself.

Emily & Aaron

It’s discovered that Aaron had called the Secretary of Defense during the time the files were stolen that contained the specs to the capitol. POTUS had Emily re-vet Aaron just to make sure he’s as clean as he says he is. Part of this lock-down is restricting Aaron’s computer access. Aaron doesn’t like it.
